چکیده

Zircon geochemistry and geochronology are powerful tools in the study of multistage cratonic settings, yielding information on ages distinguishing terranes. The Carajás Mineral Province (CMP) SE Amazonian Craton is renowned for its complex tectonic evolution notable mineral deposits endowment, such as giant iron-oxide-copper-gold (IOCG)-type Sossego Salobo. Tectonic, magmatic, metamorphic, hydrothermal event sequences imprint their records regionally deposit scales that, most cases, difficult to identify. Basement wall-rock samples from southern portion CMP's, area were selected analyzed using sensitive high-resolution ion microprobe (SHRIMP). Cathodoluminescence images guided morphological textural characterization spot location. U-Pb rare earth elements (REE) analyses SHRIMP provided trace element contents leading classification zircon type hydrothermally altered or zircon. Hydrothermal characterized by anomalous morphology REE U contents, these features have prompted identification an Archean province. These classifications indicate a circa 2.54 Ga region Carajás, likely associated with main shear zone movements (Carajás Fault). well constrained northern has not been indicated region. magmatic zircons around 2.95 2.74 Ga, coinciding zone's known ages, better resolution achieved SHRIMP. use terranes track events offers original possibilities represents new frontiers exploration.

Zircon ages delimit the provenance of a sand extrudite from the Botucatu Formation in the Paraná volcanic province, Iraí, Brazil.

Ion microprobe age determinations of 102 detrital zircon crystals from a sand extrudite, Cretaceous Paraná volcanic province, set limits on the origin of the numerous sand layers present in this major flood basalt province. The zircon U-Pb ages reflect four main orogenic cycles: Mesoproterozoic (1155-962 Ma), latest Proterozoic-early Cambrian (808-500 Ma) and two Palaeozoic (Ordovician- 480 to ...

Merging genomes with geochemistry in hydrothermal ecosystems.

Thermophilic microbial inhabitants of active seafloor and continental hot springs populate the deepest branches of the universal phylogenetic tree, making hydrothermal ecosystems the most ancient continuously inhabited ecosystems on Earth. Geochemical consequences of hot water-rock interactions render these environments habitable and supply a diverse array of energy sources. Clues to the strate...

The Pirashkaft bauxite deposit is located in north of the Paskuhak anticline in the Fars Province. The bauxite deposit present between Sarvak and Gurpy Formations, and formed during the Late Turonian time as a consequent of the Laramid orogeny phase. According to the geological investigations, the Pirashkaft bauxite is  Karstic type. The residual ore studied in the Pirashkaft can be classified ...

Geochemistry and Dynamics of the Yellowstone National Park Hydrothermal System!

The magmatic-hydrothermal system at Yellowstone National Park is unique among presently active systems in regard to its unparalleled geysers, tectonic environment, and magnitude of caldera-forming volcanic activity. However, over geologic time, systems like Yellowstone have been common and appear to have been responsible for the formation of many important basc-metal and precious-mctal ore depo...
